چکیده

Ultrasonic Sensors in Air are Intelligent Sensors, which use wave-propagation phenomena in air to measure physical or chemical variables. With accordance to the influence principle, two main types of ultrasonic sensors can be differentiated. Propagation-Pafh Sensors decode changes on propagation to get a fast measurement of temperature, pressure variations or gas concentration. Most important are ultrasonic flow sensor e.g. for engine intake air or for aidgas measurement. Distance-Sensors detect echoes from objects and evaluate their propagation time and amplitude. Examples are distance meters and presence detectors. By intelligent algorithms based on signal theory models or heuristic approaches (synthetic aperture, pulse holography, fuzzy or neural network etc.) the resolution and detection range were increased, the radial and lateral resolution significantly enhanced and objects recognized. With piezoelectric PVDF-foils efficient and versatile transducers arrays were relized. Robust transducers for operation in adverse environment (dirt, moisture, abrasion) were developed using rugged matching layers or a special composite-transducer

Air - Coupled Ultrasonic Ferroelectret Receiver with Additional DC Voltage †

Highly sensitive air-coupled ultrasonic sensors are essential for various applications such as testing of composite materials. One of the major challenges for the development of air-coupled ultrasonic sensors is the impedance matching to air. With a lower acoustic impedance than the usual piezoelectric materials, charged cellular polypropylene film (cPP) offers better matching to air with a sim...

DMMP Sensing Performance of Undoped and Al Doped Nanocrystalline ZnO Thin Films Prepared by Ultrasonic Atomization and Pyrolysis Method

Highly textured undoped (pure) and Al doped ZnO nanocrystalline thin films prepared by ultrasonic atomization and pyrolysis method are reported in this paper. ZnCl2 water solution was converted into fine mist by ultrasonic atomizer (Gapusol 9001 RBI Meylan, France). The mist was pyrolyzed on the glass substrates in horizontal quartz reactor placed in furnace. The Structural and microstructural ...

Optimized Blood Volume Monitoring during Hemodialysis Procedure based on Ultrasonic Speed Measurement

Fast reduction of blood water volume due to ultra-filtration via hemodialysis machine and critical threshold of blood water volume can result in clinical complications such as hypotension. When blood water volume reduces during hemodialysis process, the concentration of blood forming elements will increase. One of the methods for the monitoring of the concentration changes is ultrasonic speed m...

Air-Coupled Low Frequency Ultrasonic Transducers and Arrays with PMN-32%PT Piezoelectric Crystals

Air-coupled ultrasonic techniques are being increasingly used for material characterization, non-destructive evaluation of composite materials using guided waves as well as for distance measurements. Application of those techniques is mainly limited by the big losses of ultrasonic signals due to attenuation and mismatch of the acoustic impedances of ultrasonic transducers and air. One of the wa...

Monitoring of Freeze-Thaw Cycles in Concrete Using Embedded Sensors and Ultrasonic Imaging

This paper deals with the study of damage produced during freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles using two non-destructive measurement approaches-the first approach devoted to continuous monitoring using embedded sensors during the cycles, and the second one, performing ultrasonic imaging before and after the cycles. Both methodologies have been tested in two different types of concrete specimens, with and w...
